The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, through the Cultural Outreach Sector’s Bayt Al-Sinnari, located in the Sayyida Zeinab in Cairo, is organizing a lecture as part of a series on the history of Sufi thought, entitled “The Truth According to Abu Hamid al-Ghazali,” by writer Dr. Reem Bassiouni at Bayt Al-Sinnari.

The lecture will highlight the intellectual and spiritual contributions of Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, particularly his view of life and death and the profound philosophical and Sufi insights reflected in his writings, which had a profound impact.

The meeting will review some of the influence of al-Ghazali’s thought on the works of philosophers and writers, particularly the reflection of his views in the timeless philosophical story “Hayy ibn Yaqzan” by the Andalusian philosopher Ibn Tufail, which was a milestone in the history of philosophical literature.
