The third edition of the Minya International Theater Festival will take place from December 6 to 13, 2025. The festival is named after director Khaled Galal, president of the Center for Artistic Creativity, in recognition of his career and support for young talent.
The festival includes 39 free events and performances held at various theaters in Minya, as well as a parade on the Nile Corniche featuring historical costumes that express Egyptian identity. It also includes a number of seminars, theater competitions, and free training workshops in the performing arts, including workshops on scenography and playwriting, with the participation of experts from Italy.
This year’s festival features 200 artists, including 42 Arab and foreign artists from nine countries, in addition to 158 Egyptian artists. The festival also honors a number of theater icons in recognition of their contributions, including Ashraf Abdel Baqi, director Emad El-Touni, actor Amir Salah El-Din, and actor Mohamed Ali Rizk.
Artist Hamza Al-Eili continues his role as permanent honorary president of the festival, while director Kiro Sabir serves as its president and founder.
