The National Theater will present the play “King Lear” on its stage as part of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, under the patronage of Dr. Jehan Zaki, Minister of Culture, and as part of the program of the Theater Arts Center, which is part of the Theater Sector headed by director Hisham Atwa.

The production is by the National Theater troupe led by Dr. Ayman El-Shawi and will be presented on the second day of Eid al-Fitr as a theatrical experience that reimagines William Shakespeare’s classic text through a contemporary artistic vision, blending tradition with innovation.

The show stars Yahya Al-Fakhrani, alongside Tarek Desouki, Hassan Youssef, Ahmed Othman, Tamer Al-Kashif, Amal Abdullah, Iman Rajai, Laila Ali, Basma Douidar, Tarek Sharaf, Mohamed Al-Azizi, and Adel Khalaf.

The production features translation by Fatma Moussa, set design by Hamdi Attia, costumes by Ola Ali, music by Ahmed Al-Nasser, choreography by Diaa Shafiq, lighting by Al-Hussein Kajo, makeup by Islam Abbas, and is written and directed by Shadi Sorour.
