The Beit Al-Sinnari Heritage House in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo, affiliated with the Cultural Outreach Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing a seminar entitled \u201cMeeting with Taha Al-Fashni\u201d in memory of Sheikh Taha Al-Fashni. The seminar will be presented by Haitham Abu Zeid, critic and researcher in the heritage of recitation and chanting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar will focus on analyzing the most prominent features of the vocal performance of Sheikh Taha Al-Fashni, one of the leading figures in religious recitation and chanting in Egypt, highlighting the uniqueness of his voice and his distinctive style in recitations and supplications, and how he managed to establish his presence on Egyptian radio despite fierce competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting will also include a listening session of rare selections from Al-Fashni’s recordings, illustrating the stages of his rise to stardom and his profound influence on the history of Egyptian religious chanting, as part of Bayt Al-Sinnari’s efforts to celebrate symbols of Egyptian heritage and support specialized studies in phonetics and spiritual heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
